Established in 1995, Optic Exclusive has been serving the Namibian community for almost 30 years. The practice Owner, Mariska du Toit , is a pioneer in Iridology-combining the medical world with alternative therapy. She has been in the optometric field for almost 30 years and while serving the Walvisbay community since 2013. Mariska loves incorporating the latest innovations in her practice.

Comprehensive Eye Examinations

We provide a range of eye examinations. Having your eyes tested regularly can also result in early detection of a serious health risk. Our aim is clear and comfortable vision for all our patients based on each patient’s needs.

Visual Acuity Tests

This test is used to measure the sharpness and clarity of your vision. Testing both your near and distance vision using eye charts and different lenses we can determine how to improve your vision.

Frame Selection and Assistance

Frames are more than just corrective eyewear; they become part of your daily appurtenance. Our team are here to help choose the perfect frame to meet your needs and preferences.

Contact Lens Consultation

Starting with an eye health assessment we can determine if you are able to wear Contact Lenses. Once you are cleared you are fitted and the particular types of lenses are discussed to determine the best option for your lifestyle.

Frame and Spectacle Adjustments and Repairs

From time to time you may want your Frames adjusted or repaired. Our skilled opticians can adjust the bridge, nose pads and temples to ensure the proper fit to your face.

Iridology

We analyze the coloured portion of your eye- the Iris. The structure and colour of your iris can the tell us what you are genetically prone to. We can then advise you on how to detox and use vitamins that improve your quality of life.

Dry Eye Treatment

This is a treatment where the Blephasteam heating mask heats the lid margins. Afterwards the Meibomian glands are expressed with an optical Forceps. The lid margin will be debrided to get rid of any bacteria and excess toxins.

Fundus Examinations And Optical coherence tomography (OCT)

We take Fundus pictures of the retina of the eye to assess your ocular health on the back surface. In cases where there seems to be a problem on the fundus we use the OCT to look at the deeper levels of the fundus.

Pediatrics

We have a specialized optometric screener for children. I have personally assessed children as young as 9 months. This is a great tool for analyzing any refractive error or squints.
